Hello Friends!
We have been busy bees over here and we wanted to give you a few updates! Many people are contacting us about mask making with some common questions, so we wanted to address those for you, especially as more cities begin to require them (they are required here in San Diego for all essential businesses as of Saturday 4/4/20).
Note: We are prioritizing orders for fabric that will be used for masks and other essential items.
The most common questions pertain to fabric choices and patterns. As far as fabric, woven cottons are perfect. It's not too heavy (which won't make you too hot) and washes well. Many people are enjoying using a soft knit against the face. If you will need your mask for daily use, you'll want a few on rotation. Masks are also great during and after our notorious California fires, so keep those babies handy!

Masks can be made with elastic, nylon, or ties (I personally prefer ties from bias tape). The masks shown here are made from nylon and elastic and were donated to local San Diego hospitals. Here is a great FREE mask pattern by Dana of Made Everyday.
Meanwhile, we've been emptying off bolts like crazy and have new fabric options on the way, so keep an eye out on what's new!

As so many businesses are forced to close and cease operations, we are grateful to be supplying essential goods to so many of you—especially those of you with allergies or intolerances to the chemicals often found in conventional cotton products.
For the past 4 years that we have been in business, medical use has been a major part of our market, especially for people undergoing chemotherapy. We are so happy to be here to serve you all—especially during these difficult times.

Yes! I’ve recently decided to take on the daunting task of turning out as many masks as possible for friends and family! My husband is away from us and works as an Army Trauma Medic at SAMC and said they could use as much as we can make! This has been a trying time but all storms have an end!❤️❤️❤️

I am new to sewing and I have only made an egg costume for my 3 year old and cloud pillows for both my boys. I am so happy to have found you guys in my neighborhood. :) It’s amazing to hear that the fabric is going to a good cause right now! Hooray for emptying bolts and cant wait to see what’s coming next! <3
Love this! I used up all my quilting cotton for making masks, as well as a stash a friend gave me from her quilting days. I’ve made about 160 and have another 75 or so cut. I’ve been giving them to friend who are nurses, PTs, work in hospitals, nursing homes, as well as ER docs that are related to my husband’s company. It’s sad that these import healthcare workers need help from us, but I feel glad to help in any way I can. Now on to making them for family and friends since the fabric masks are recommended for everyone!
