As if things had not been crazy enough with the San Diego lock-downs, our little beautiful community has been targeted by rioters. For those not familiar with San Diego geography, La Mesa is a sister community and suffered major havoc. The news covered the major businesses that were razed, but didn't make as large a mention of the small businesses that were looted. One is owned by a friend of my husband and they will likely not recover from this as they were already hit hard by the shut-down over the past two months.
In our last blog, we gave you some resources in mask making. I've had a lot of questions, particularly about elastic, nylon, and ties. Elastic is scarce (we are totally out!), nylon can be obtained from old pantyhose (just cut 2" strips horizontally--across the legs and you have perfect loops), or my favorite method--make ties! Some people were confused by the ties thinking they were a specialty item that we sell--they are not.
