  2. Chambray Chambray is a plain weave medium-weight cotton material with colored yarn in the warp and a white yarn in the weft. It creates a denim appearance without the weight. This is great for dresses, tops, blouses, light-weight skirts, and more!

  4. Stretch Cottons Stretch cottons are perfect for leggings, tops, dresses, swaddles, hats, rompers, and so much more! They have primary stretch on the cross grain (across the fabric). Jersey knit is typically lighter in weight than interlock knit. Jersey is often used for t-shirts and rolls toward the right-side of the fabric when cut and then stretched.   5. Quilting Cottons Quilting cottons are considered standard cottons. They have a little stretch across the bias (diagonally) and minimal stretch on the grain. This is what most people refer to when they say to use "cotton" fabric. Our most common quilting cottons are poplin and broadcloth. Flannel is another common quilting cotton.   6. Lightweight Cottons Lightweight cottons are typically woven cottons that are great apparel weight materials. Their light hand allows them to drape beautifully across curves and bodies of many shapes. These are great choices for blouses, scarves, light swaddles, dresses, rompers, skirts, handkerchiefs, lingerie, and so much more! Of the lightweight cottons we carry, lawn has the most structure, voile is in the middle and batiste is the most lightweight and sheer.
